St. Catherine was greatly troubled over the sorrows that plagued the Church of her day... Who was the true pope? More than one claimed the title... the schism caused chaos amongst the faithful, many priests did little to help the matter, living scandalous lives... But instead of wasting time complaining about them, she applied herself through prayer and sacrifice, begging God to assist His Pope and Priests and make them holy. Let us encourage everyone we know to follow her example! Enough pointing fingers! Lets pray instead! BACK OF CARD has a brief bio of this incredible saint, who was the 23rd of 25 children! What saints are we losing in our day, due to the limited family sizes even in good Catholic families? Also has a quotation from the Dialogue of St. Catherine... God the Father spoke directly to her about the priests of her day, and told her that if they were not holy, it is due to our negligence in praying for them, so it is really our own fault. One of my favorite cards for two reasons, St. Catherine is my patron saint, and because it was through reading this, I stopped casting stones at everyone and learned how to pray for them instead! Thank you St. Catherine!
